Japanofail volume 2 announcement and preorders!

Japanofail volume 2 preorders are now open!

Japanofail Preorders!

Japanofail started out a series of comic strips that took a merciless look at geek culture.  From reading comics and cosplaying, to trash talking your favourite anime, nothing is spared.  It gradually freestyled it’s way to its present form of psychopathic depravity in general.  It is stupid, fun, violent, sometimes sexual, always socially inept and virtually anything goes.  Needless to say it’s my most popular work by a long stretch.

For a limited time I am taking preorders for Japanofail volume 2, which will contains issues 7-12 of the main series.  For those new to the series I’m offering up volume 1 for order as well.  I intend to have the book available at London Comic Con at the end of the month, but thought I’d give the opportunity to anyone who can’t make the event.  Books will be mailed out as soon as they arrive toward the end of the month.

For an idea of how the book will look, here are a couple of images of volume 1, along with some sample strips of what will be in volume 2.

Thanks for looking!

Japanofail Issue 12

Kind of befitting of the Japanofail name, but I finished this comic a few months ago, and forgot to mention it here.  Whoops!

Sincere apologies about that.  Needless to say issue 12 is finished and done and appeared at London Comic Con last May.  Luckily I have a table again at Comic Con next month so it will be available there as well!

The Thief's Affair - Issue 4

It's been a while, but a new issue of The Thief's Affair came out last month.  Two more chapters of drama and intrigue!  In this issue we spend time getting to know our heroes a little better, while the conspiracies bubble away in the background.  Just how deep does it all go?  Needless to say it's not good news and the stakes are raised ever higher.  If you see it at an event, be sure to check it out!

Liverpool and Birmingham Comic Con 2016 - Complete

Doing two events on consecutive weekends is tough, especially if you catch a lurgy at the first one.  Apologies if I infected anyone!

These were my first events of the year, so it was cool to get involved again.  Both events were fun, with a lot of friendly attendees.

Next up: London MCM in May

Now for 2016 - back in the game!

I've not done an update for about half a year on here.  I've been a little quiet and took a break from trying to force myself on making deadlines for drawing comics.  Now it's back to business for 2016!

Three events are currently booked up:

MCM Liverpool Comic Con: 12-13 March

MCM Birmingham Comic Con: 19-20 March

MCM London Comic Con: 27-29 March

Last year I only did three events, so hopefully will be able to attend more this year.  I'm working on some new comics which should hopefully be in time for these events.  Will keep this blog posted.

See you soon!

MCM Manchester Comic Con 2015 - Complete!

Am recovered from last weekend's event now.  It was fun! ^_^

This event's top seller was Ball, which I think might mark the first time that it wasn't Japanofail.  Onwards and upwards - will keep you posted when new events and comic occur. See you soon!

Preparing for Manchester Comic Con!

A week from now Manchester Comic Con will be underway!  I thought I'd update on what's new since the last time I was there.

Japanofail issues 10 and 11 have been available at Londond events, but this is the first time they've been at Manchester Comic Con.  Also completely new is a set of A4 art prints.  The photo doesn't really do them justice, but they look really nice real life.

If you're visiting feel free to drop by my table and say hello.  The map above offers directions.  Not long now!

May 2015 MCM London Comic Con - Complete!

It's over!

This was the first time that the MCM London Comic Con was open for three full days.  It was tiring, but I'm sure we'll get used to the extended hours in future events!

As always thank you to anyone who stopped by, and if you came away with any of my work I hope you enjoyed the comics!  It was nice to see a mix of old and new faces - let's all meet again next time! ^___^

Next event: Manchester Comic Con.  2 months to go!

...it's 2015 isn't it?

I've not updated in so long!

Hibernating over winter takes its toll, and this year I've kind of overslept and have left everything until the last minute!  I've managed to snag a table at two events this year, so I will be found at:

MCM London Comic Con - 22-24 May 2015

and

MCM Manchester Comic Con - 25-26 July 2015

Demand amongst creators for getting Comic Village tables is getting bigger by the year, so am very happy and somewhat relieved to have landed a table for each of these events.  I'll definitely have all my regular stock on hand.  I am working on a couple of new products, but they're far from being finished, so won't make any promises on when they may appear.  As usual I'll update as and when they're ready to be released.

Time to get drawing! \o/

MCM London Comic Con October 2014 - Complete!

It was a long, but fun weekend.  Thanks to anyone who dropped by and if you bought comics, I hope you enjoyed them!

Usually Japanofail steals the show, but this time there was a way more even mix of people picking up some of my other titles.  This is encouraging as I'm hoping to work on some non-Japanofail projects in the coming months (although of course I'll still try and get some 'fail done in between times). :-)

Next event - Thought Bubble in Leeds!

Camcon 2014 - Complete!

Camcon brings my summer comics season to a close for this year.  It was a gentle day out in the marquee where I was exhibiting and made for a relaxed and friendly event.

The Japanofail graphic novels were the best at finding new homes for themselves, closely followed by Ball.  As ever thanks to anyone who dropped by for chats, and if you took anything away with you I hope you enjoy!

Next event is the big one: October MCM London Comic Con!

Japanofail Issue 10

No rest for the wicked - it's time for more Japanofail!  Issue 10 arrived from the printer today and is ready for sale from Camcon this weekend and at future events.  Come check it out!

10 issues though... that's a lot.  I'm really happy to have been able to hit this milestone.  Let's see just how far we can go! :-)

Comica Comiket 2014 - Complete!

So the British Library is a pretty nifty venue which made of a friendly and relaxed event.  I was sharing a table with the awesome Eterntalbeliever which made things even more fun. :-)  Thanks to anyone who dropped by for chats and comics!

It's no rest for the wicked however - next event: Camcon in 2 weeks!

MCM Manchester 2014 - Complete!

It's been a hot summer, and the air con at Manchester Central was a huge bonus!  It was a good event with a larger crowd than last year, but spread out over an expanded two days.

Quite fair few people dropped by my table over the weekend and it was fun to chat with all of you! :-)  Those who walked away with some of my titles naturally have the best taste and I hope you enjoyed your purchases!

Next up: 16th August at Comica Comiket!  Busy busy!

Sunday, 13 July 2014

LFCC July 2014 - Complete!

It was a long weekend, but the London Film and Comic Con is over!

It was a good event to have a decent chat with peoples, so if you dropped by over the weekend, it was nice to catch up. Also if you took comics away with you - I hope you enjoyed! :-)

There's no time to rest however, MCM Manchester is next week!  Hope to see more of you there! ^_^

Japanofail Volume 1

Japanofail finally makes it into graphic novel format! Rejoice!
Comprising the first six issues of the series, Japanofail Volume 1 is a 160-odd page, perfect-bound chunk of comic strip awesomeness filled with geeksplosions and otaku fails.  For those encountering the series for the first time, Japanofail is a comic-strip series that focuses on otaku life, anime, manga, cosplay, politics, catgirls, video games, mechas, samurai, poetry, life, death and everything else in between!  Proceedings are generally in 4-panel format, but this is a very loose guide at the comic freestyles in whichever way it feels.

Japanofail is easily my most successful comic series, and this year celebrates its 5th anniversary.  The timing seemed right to get a compilation done, especially as earlier issues are starting to run low on stock.  This is a good chance to jump in on the fun, and I will have it on sale at all my upcoming events.  Come get some fail!

MCM London Comic Con May 2014 - Complete!

This event was a bit of a special one for me as it coincided with my 5th anniversary from when I first attended an event to sell my comics.  Over this time I've released over 20 issues and made a lot of friends, and hope to continue for as long as I find it fun (which hopefully will be for a long time yet!).

As ever, Japanofail was my most popular title at the event, and Ball's debut being well received too.  In fact I think this was my most successful event ever!  A good weekend overall then! :-)

Next event: London Film and Comic Con in July followed by MCM Manchester Comic Con the weekend after.

The Tea Book

In at the last minute for Comic Con this weekend is The Tea Book.  Edited by the awesome Rebecca Burgess, The Tea Book is an artbook of multiple artists who have drawn characters inspired by various flavours of tea.  I chose Oolong tea and is previewed here. :-)

It's a bit of a deluxe thing, large in size and full colour.  The standard of work inside is high, so it'll be well worth a look!

Ball

New comic time!  Ball is a self-contained short comic about an individual who loves their ball.  It is a silent comic with no dialogue or sound effects - everything is explained solely through the visuals.

This one was a lot of fun to make.  Please look out for it at events!
